Calamares 0 - 3 FCPM (382965135)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 23993 that came out to Stadium Arcadium. Jean-Baptiste Diacono was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Deimantas Nikolaičiukas and Oscar Geissberger. Calamares had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. They fielded: Cartagena - 嘉云 (Jiayun), Weinrich, Jørgensen, Paduschek, Traoui - Bohdan, Wojtulewicz, Grießbrei - Segarić, Schnell.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FCPM. Lineup: Mäkitupa - Sietes, Filbà, Friess, Sanjuán - Drienyovszky, Hoytema, Sever, Loroño - Vinkeles, Cloots.

Calamares clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. H. Paduschek looked like he could fly, as he rose high to head the ball. Unfortunately for Calamares, the ball went just barely wide. C. Wojtulewicz of Calamares received a yellow card after 9 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 27 minutes into the game Calamares managed a counterattack, but S. Schnell took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 30 minutes into the match left FCPM's J. Friess completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. J. Loroño made a nice dash down the wing after 36 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. FCPM increased the lead to 0 - 2 as R. Cloots scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. S. Jørgensen of Calamares was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. FCPM had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

The visitors almost increased their lead after 61 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar. A counterattack by Calamares after 62 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but S. Schnell, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. The visitors nearly scored again after 68 minutes, but a superb save by F. Cartagena kept R. Cloots's free kick out of the net. After 71 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave B. Hoytema a chance to increase the lead for FCPM, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. With the scoreboard showing that 74 minutes had been played, FCPM nearly put themselves up another goal after R. Cloots came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by FCPM, with 57 percent of the ball.

Calamares's top performer was clearly C. Wojtulewicz. H. Paduschek on the other hand, had a terrible day. FCPM's best player was M. Filbà. R. Sever turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
