The 24487 fans in attendance at
Selford Stadium were roasting in the hot sun.
Eryk Janowiak was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Benjamin Stoltenberg and
Mikael Eriksson.
Redbull had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
They fielded: Dulce - Bozkurt, Pant, Guelfo - Arce, catalá, Cabeleira, Sanches - Welver, Guimera, Livnat.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for EuroCharco.
The following players had been chosen: Rachowski - Scheyrer, Ruano, Hickmann - Eres, Ağıt, Zehetner, Pizarro, Pinedo - Zabal, Serra.
The wings were the focus of most of EuroCharco's attacks today.
In a rapid move 14 minutes into the match,
M. Eres of EuroCharco lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
M. Serra who easily hit it home to make it 0 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
U. Guelfo was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Redbull with a strike from the left, but
W. Rachowski managed to ward the shot off for a corner.
K. Ağıt increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2.
Redbull refused to be intimidated and, breaking through the middle,
Ö. Bozkurt managed to slip the ball home for 1 - 2.
EuroCharco's
H. Scheyrer refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 43 minutes.
Halftime score was 1 - 2.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Redbull, with 63 percent of the ball.
The coach of EuroCharco was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 69 minutes,
F. Girón Téllez came on for
T. Pinedo.
M. Eres left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 69 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
I. Bragado was the replacement.
The visitors'
I. Bragado took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 75 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for EuroCharco.
As the game started to slip away for Redbull, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
Redbull's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 77 minutes into the match as
Ö. Bozkurt ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 2 - 3.
With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 78 minutes played,
A. Guimera of Redbull made the score 3 - 3.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
B. Sanches, but the Redbull player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 4 - 3!
Redbull enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
The most dominating Redbull player was without a doubt
F. Welver.
On the other hand,
U. Guelfo's play was disheartening.
Most important EuroCharco player was
M. Serra.
However,
K. Ağıt made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 4 - 3.
