Clouds darkened the skies at Panocha C.F. Arena as 17214 spectators turned up for the match. İrfan Arkın was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Domenic Siewert and John Hawkesford. Panocha decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Marchand - Nyhman, Glattfelder, Auster - Orburu, Guarrat, Baurer, Otero, Villaverde - Marttio, van Spiegel.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Palofumeke. The following players took the field: Hatala - Parrino, Geipel - Amri, Bertè, Enescu, Lumbreras, Dominique - Olivier, Kolařík, Grath.

Panocha saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Palofumeke seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. As F. Guarrat had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Panocha player a red card without batting an eyelid. The visiting B. Enescu was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 35 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. The visitors' L. Olivier took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 36 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Palofumeke. Z. Brunac was called on to replace Panocha's A. Marttio after 37 minutes following a nasty collision. 38 minutes into the game, Palofumeke worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Panocha, with 52 percent of the ball.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Palofumeke coach let R. Bize replace B. Enescu after 60 minutes. The coach of Palofumeke was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 68 minutes, É. Dalle came on for T. Dominique. The Palofumeke players could smell victory in the air. J. Kolařík wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for P. Misurati after 70 minutes. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Panocha, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. With 73 minutes played, I. van Spiegel was very close to reducing the score for Panocha with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. After 78 minutes, Palofumeke's Z. Parrino burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. A marvellous Panocha effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 84 minutes by Z. Brunac, making the score 1 - 3. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave J. Grath from Palofumeke a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 85 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Palofumeke claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

Most important Panocha player was G. Nyhman. I. van Spiegel on the other hand, had a terrible day. L. Olivier performed admirably for Palofumeke. R. Bize was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
