QnA! 2 - 3 Arenys
(382970829)

11-08-2012 15.00
29231 spectators arrived at
Al Lloro que no estamos tan mal Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Hieronymus Renner-Priwitzer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Simeon Mladenov and
Rory Wilson.
The derby had been the talk of
Catalunya all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
QnA! tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
Starters: Valdés - Pérez Espinosa, Craviotto, Vana, Lindher - Luter, Sindl, Fíguls, Ambrogetti, Martínez Blázquez - Cevallos.
Arenys decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Reus - Fornels, Dominiak, Ozorio - Estruch, Boyanov, Hernando, Karanlık, Martínez Ibañez - van Ieperen, Othegi.
QnA! mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Arenys used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
With 25 minutes played
F. Ambrogetti almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors'
J. Reus was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball.
The visiting
Ö. Karanlık was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 29 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
Arenys's
S. van Ieperen got himself booked for a foul.
Ö. Karanlık increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2.
It was obvious that team Arenys had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
E. Vana of QnA! was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
QnA! claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, QnA!'s
F. Fíguls was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 60 minutes.
F. Gardinazzi was given a chance to change things around.
E. Vana became the new QnA! captain.
Given a free kick close to the byline, QnA! tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
R. Martínez Blázquez slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 2, 66 minutes into the game.
QnA! had to make a substitution after 67 minutes.
F. Gardinazzi limped off the field and was replaced by
T. Borgès.
After 78 minutes, Arenys sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
S. Othegi, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 3.
QnA!'s
E. Cevallos found himself alone on the left side 79 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper!
81 minutes into the match, QnA!'s
R. Sindl collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 2 - 3.
Arenys came close to extending their lead as
J. Fornels delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 82 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
QnA! had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
W. Craviotto performed admirably for QnA!.
T. Borgès on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Arenys's top performer was clearly
S. van Ieperen.
J. Reus was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 3.
