Nilsson gave the Canape supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Canape lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Canape claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

J. Saarela nearly reduced the lead 54 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by J. Grell prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net. The coach of Canape was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes, V. Flåten came on for N. van Wissen. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Canape coach let I. Macià replace A. Forti after 70 minutes. 71 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as R. Nilsson broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Canape. 82 minutes into the game Canape managed a counterattack, but V. Flåten took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Canape, with 51 percent of the ball.

R. Nilsson performed admirably for Canape. B. Pogány was a disappointment, however. Recreativo's best player was B. Oxley. E. Salvadó turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
