Pucela 2 - 2 Battery
(382977206)

11-08-2012 15.00
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 17923 had shown up at
coliseum Hristo Stoitchkov for the match.
Muhammed Ali Otancak was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Erik Torner and
Jonas zur Bonsen.
Pucela decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Wohak - Galhardo, Popovici, Catatau - Salinas Mila, Fagoaga, Krstić, Thomas, Serrat - Diodato, de los Mozos.
Battery tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination.
Lineup: Zoccarato - Popa, Díaz de Lavandero, Lozano Jiménez, Puga - Carballa, Lévy, Fâşie - Rábago, Eyundiano, Isarre.
Pucela tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
Battery clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
With 17 minutes played
P. Diodato almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
A. Popovici from Pucela a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 24 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Many thought
J. de los Mozos ought to have been awarded a penalty 30 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
D. Zoccarato after a determined run through the middle.
After 31 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Battery on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by
A. Rábago to make it 0 - 1.
0 - 1 was the halftime score.
Pucela claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 73 percent.
J. de los Mozos showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 57 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away.
Battery's
R. Eyundiano gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 69 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
81 minutes into the game,
J. de los Mozos came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar.
J. de los Mozos made a superb strike after 82 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner.
The head of
L. Serrat connected with a corner kick after 83 minutes, and the ball ended up with
F. Salinas Mila of Pucela who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 2 - 2.
Pucela enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.
The most dominating Pucela player was without a doubt
J. de los Mozos.
On the other hand,
F. Salinas Mila's play was disheartening.
Battery's top performer was clearly
A. Rábago.
D. Zoccarato was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 2.
