23-06-2012 15.00
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 11714 to
Katamotz FC Arena.
Jonas Kobe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jean-Mari De Vilder and
Florin Dobrin.
Katamotz tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Kutaj - Kuzmanov, Manta, Urtiaga, Riu, Aunan - Ekenman, Cynar, Simon - Biguri, Carinelli.
Master decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Gayones - Konkov, Schadt, Tvistholm - Călburean, Strauser, Luukas, Borrallo, Reisenberg - Palamides, Caldara.
Katamotz used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Master clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
Katamotz took the lead 14 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
J. Aunan elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
N. Biguri increased the lead for Katamotz to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Katamotz put in a good effort on the right, but
N. Biguri saw his volley fly wide of the mark 24 minutes into the game.
Halftime score was 2 - 0.
Katamotz enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
After 70 minutes, Master switched
T. Călburean with
W. Limpens, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Master's
O. Konkov was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 70 minutes.
L. Iglesias was given a chance to change things around.
Katamotz had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
Katamotz solidified their lead at the 76 minute mark, as
G. Urtiaga dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
The referee showed Katamotz's
G. Cynar the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Master needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 80 minutes
N. Caldara made way for
T. van der Branden.
Katamotz claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
Katamotz's best player was
N. Biguri.
On the other hand,
G. Urtiaga's play was disheartening.
Master's top performer was clearly
G. Palamides.
G. Schadt turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.
