18-08-2012 15.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 20294 that came out to
Estadi de La Platón.
Uri Dotan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fabien Sautel and
Leonard Claeys.
Font started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Kavouroglou - Sans, Drozdek, Hurtado - Boronat, Piemontese, Kierdziołek, Esteban, Costa - Haggenmüller, Kadem.
Kakosport had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Navidad - Pereira, Saena, Dussi - Vidal de Llobatera, Choricero, Esteíbar, Tandori, Díaz de Ledesma - Zubillaga, Berengueras.
Font saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for Font, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
7 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Font to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
F. Esteban alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.
Font had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
At 20 minutes played,
S. Hurtado came in from the right with the intention of giving Font the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
Font had to make a substitution after 29 minutes.
A. Boronat limped off the field and was replaced by
J. Valdivia Bravo.
Kakosport's
J. Vidal de Llobatera gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 32 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
A. Kadem's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence.
J. Berengueras could have put his team up another goal 38 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.
Halftime score was 0 - 1.
Kakosport claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
53 minutes into the match, Font's
D. Haggenmüller maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 60 minutes when
R. Saena came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
After 61 minutes,
D. Kierdziołek came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 2 - 1, giving Font the lead.
L. Piemontese wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat.
With 68 minutes played,
F. Esteban could have brought this one home for Font as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
D. Haggenmüller finished off the counterattack of Font from the left rather easily, making the score 3 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Kakosport, with 53 percent of the ball.
Font's best player was
M. Costa.
N. Kavouroglou turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Kakosport player was without a doubt
F. Choricero.
On the other hand,
B. Pereira's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 1.
