Vázquez was marked down as the scorer. After 41 minutes, katxondeo raised their score by one when K. Árvay's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by G. Chirkov. 2 - 1. With 44 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, R. Vázquez needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. S. Villari increased the lead for katxondeo to 3 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! The referee showed katxondeo's F. Burak the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 44 minutes played, M. Crehuet could have brought this one home for katxondeo as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. F. Pérez Camacho should probably have put his team up another goal after 44 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by E. Vidaurreta kept the visitors in the game. Halftime score was 3 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to katxondeo, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their I. Albert reduced the lead to make it 3 - 2 after 52 minutes, following a pass from the right. After 54 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after F. Muşat made it through the middle and struck home to make it 3 - 3. Some great play up the middle by katxondeo led to a chance for G. Chirkov to score after 72 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. katxondeo took the lead, 4 - 3, after a penalty 74 minutes into the match. G. Chirkov scored from the penalty spot. katxondeo had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Most important katxondeo player was G. Chirkov. On the other hand, R. Vázquez's play was disheartening. UMBERT's top performer was clearly G. Alberman. E. Vidaurreta was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 3.
