The crowd of 20380 turning up at Garbancita stadium today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Kjell Hammarmo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ragner Bojsen and Manuel Jauregui Bereciartu. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Peritas. CAT-ALANS had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Lejard - Badstöber, Maxim, Feierl - Tuulikangas, Silvurbak, Elorriaga, Mágócs, Massarenti - Marčev, Guitart.

Peritas seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. A. Marčev was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, CAT-ALANS's J. Guitart managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 1 C. Gutarrate, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. 14 minutes into the match, Peritas's S. Zahid maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. CAT-ALANS claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

70 minutes into the match, CAT-ALANS nearly took the lead, as A. Marčev broke through on the right. B. Lezertua made the save, however. At 79 minutes played, C. Gutarrate came in from the right with the intention of giving Peritas the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. After a fine move down the middle M. Balder nearly gave the home side a goal after 84 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. Many thought L. Valbjørn ought to have been awarded a penalty 86 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around P. Lejard after a determined run through the middle. A. Marčev had a good try after 88 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. Peritas had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

P. Purkl performed admirably for Peritas. S. Zahid was a disappointment, however. Most important CAT-ALANS player was D. Elorriaga. However, R. Massarenti made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
