(382994332)

28-07-2012 15.00
Clouds darkened the skies at
Arena de la playa as 15065 spectators turned up for the match.
Rajko Jovanović was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Theobald Fraser and
Gerhard Wolfram.
jartri had chosen a strategic 3-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Wangelin - Sans, Arana, Bellavia - Barbarà, Quevedo, Rentería, Mateos - Estrada, Ebedli.
Botifarra tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination.
They fielded: Puig - Fontdeglòria, Masferrer, Mallofré, Piñol, Torres - Sisquella, Macià, Xairó - Clusella, Font.
jartri clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
Botifarra were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
A counterattack by Botifarra after 11 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
P. Fontdeglòria, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
After 15 minutes Botifarra tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
J. Mallofré's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
31 minutes into the game, jartri seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
B. Ebedli of jartri seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
A. Barbarà.
With 33 minutes played,
A. Piñol came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by Botifarra.
A great save by keeper
R. Puig after 34 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
B. Ebedli struck from the left with a real cannonball.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by jartri, with 57 percent of the ball.
During the break, jartri's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
solid organisation.
After 46 minutes, Botifarra switched
M. Macià with
M. Pellisé, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
70 minutes into the game, jartri seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
weak level of organisation.
Botifarra tied it all up, 71 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by
M. Xairó, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1.
With 79 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
M. Masferrer put the ball away for 1 - 2.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
A. Piñol would have put Botifarra up another goal 82 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
85 minutes in, jartri appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
weak.
With 88 minutes played,
B. Font nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
L. Torres received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 89 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
B. Ebedli charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for jartri, but the shot went well wide of the goal.
Botifarra enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
Most important jartri player was
E. Arana.
E. Bellavia was a disappointment, however.
Botifarra's best player was
M. Clusella.
However,
A. Sisquella made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 2.
