Clouds darkened the skies at Aponino Arena as 21180 spectators turned up for the match. Leonard Florea was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marco Bini and Mattias Rosenhall. Aponino tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. Starters: Hallinen - Vaka, Jofre - Zaragozá, Elser, Tyll, Verdún, Pillon - Buzon, Segrià, Marsilio.

For their match strategy, Aponino had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. 0 - 1 was the score with 3 minutes played, after J. González cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Lastima. The home keeper was stunned 22 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by C. Villanova and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 2. After the ball was lifted in from the left, B. Sans was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 23 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. With the scoreboard showing that 29 minutes had been played, Lastima nearly put themselves up another goal after O. Darnés came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Aponino's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 33 minutes into the match as X. Segrià ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. J. Iglesias Fraile was, after 34 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper T. Hallinen made the save. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Lastima, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

60 minutes in, Aponino's C. Zaragozá received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from J. Iglesias Fraile after 65 minutes, and prevented Lastima from going up another goal. With 75 minutes played, the Aponino coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. C. Miro came on, J. Tyll had to leave the fray. B. Sans could have put his team up another goal 79 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. After 80 minutes, the defensive line of Aponino created a counterattack through the middle that gave A. Vaka a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Aponino's T. Marsilio had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 81 minutes having been played. F. Candal was the replacement. Lastima had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

The most dominating Aponino player was without a doubt S. Buzon. T. Hallinen was a disappointment, however. Lastima's top performer was clearly I. De Jaegher. B. Sans turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
