(383009855)

18-08-2012 15.00
31563 spectators arrived at
Trincheras Catalanas, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Alexey Golin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ratilo Bornkoppel and
Joaquín Alcántara.
Soldiers had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
They fielded: del Olivo - Byon, Notaro - Zvans, Brisart, Delicado, Bollar, Hynninen - Maza, Mládek, Actis.
S.Miedo tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
Lineup: Fertmann - Iacovone, Malatesta, Lienen, Boulin, Kalantar - Sénéca, Amenábar, Hager, Adams - Ceccato.
J. Sénéca made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 2 minutes into the match.
G. Ceccato bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for S.Miedo. 0 - 1.
Soldiers's
Y. Byon almost tied things up with 7 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
G. Ceccato from S.Miedo a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 8 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
M. Delicado charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for Soldiers, but the shot went well wide of the goal.
The home crowd cheered when, after 12 minutes,
J. Sénéca's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
With 35 minutes played, S.Miedo put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
M. Kalantar.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
S.Miedo had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.
After 54 minutes, Soldiers switched
R. Notaro with
J. Castell, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
The Soldiers free kick 63 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
J. Actis, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 2!
G. Ceccato increased S.Miedo's lead to 1 - 3 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner.
With 72 minutes played, S.Miedo's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
A. Lienen he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 4.
The players of S.Miedo now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The home crowd were delighted when
D. Mládek scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 2 - 4. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure!
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
O. Hynninen got himself booked. The manager of Soldiers was not happy.
J. Sénéca of S.Miedo was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Possession in this half belonged to S.Miedo, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.
Soldiers's best player was
F. Maza.
O. Hynninen turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating S.Miedo player was without a doubt
G. Ceccato.
However,
L. Boulin made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 4.
