Tapien 0 - 0 Bang
(383018731)

30-06-2012 15.00
Due to an all-day shower, 22706 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Tapien Colliseum.
Rajko Kolevski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Robert Fiertek and
Viggo Meng.
Tapien had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
Starters: Santamaría - Roxas Sotolongo, Monferrer, Salmiranta, del Pino - Carlsen, Tulstrup, Aberasturi, Kerim, Kúrshakov - Tvarovský.
Bang decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Oylum - Maingot, Capeche, Miushi - Masalkovas, Querol, Popoiu, Lachor, Meier - Nagy, Zeisel.
For their match strategy, Tapien had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
Tapien could have put themselves ahead after 15 minutes but
S. Monferrer missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right.
Tapien's
Ş. Kerim got himself booked for a foul.
43 minutes into the game Bang managed a counterattack, but
M. Lachor took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper.
The referee showed Tapien's
N. Salmiranta the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Halftime score was 0 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tapien, with 54 percent of the ball.
Tapien nearly produced a goal as
A. Tvarovský set up
V. Kúrshakov for a strike from a seemingly impossible angle. However he put the shot narrowly wide.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
A. Aberasturi from Tapien a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 68 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
72 minutes in, Tapien's
S. Roxas Sotolongo received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
As the 80 minute mark approached, the Tapien coach decided it was time for a substitution.
S. Monferrer reluctantly made way for
F. Mínguez Tahona on the pitch.
83 minutes in, Tapien appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
Bang claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
Tapien's top performer was clearly
N. Salmiranta.
On the other hand,
V. Kúrshakov's play was disheartening.
Bang's best player was
J. Nagy.
However,
G. Oylum made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 0.
