Abadin 7 - 2 Garraf (383021251)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 15706 to Rota Fortuna . Marcelo Fuente was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Adrián Cenador and Stephen Gandy. Abadin started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. Lineup: Marías - Uzbertiz, Fuentes Albar - Sánchez, Muñoz, Platas, Ibarra, Osorez - Clariana, Dacón, Vedeja.

Garraf tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Starters: Marins - Ciaschini, Bellamy, Guerreiro, De Carlo - Granakis, Lupaşcu, Knutson, Costa Pacheco - Pachatz, Răduţă.

Garraf displayed their ability to play creatively. The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing - R. Ibarra's free kick had found the back of the net and put Abadin ahead 1 - 0! Abadin's R. Fuentes Albar was shown a yellow card after 25 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Cheers filled the stadium as R. Ibarra broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Abadin. The visitors got one back when J. Pachatz finished off a pass from the left and scored after 37 minutes. 2 - 1 was the score. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why D. Guerreiro found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. 39 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as R. Ibarra broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for Abadin. That made three goals for R. Ibarra and he was marked down for the hat trick. Abadin solidified their lead at the 43 minute mark, as J. Clariana dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1. After 44 minutes, Abadin's R. Platas fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Garraf fought on and, after 44 minutes, N. Granakis was able to reduce the deficit to 4 - 2 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with an incredibly clever chip. Halftime score was 4 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Abadin, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Garraf's S. Bellamy was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. P. Udeh was given a chance to change things around. Garraf needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes J. Knutson made way for P. Bosler. With 46 minutes played, the Garraf coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. J. Leijamaa came on, J. Pachatz had to leave the fray. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Z. Dacón squirmed through their central defence after 55 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 2. With 60 minutes played, V. Ciaschini of Garraf fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. H. Marías made a brilliant save 61 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from A. Răduţă on the right hand side. M. Sánchez's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 68 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to J. Clariana who knocked it in for Abadin. 6 - 2! After this, you could see that the players of Abadin were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Abadin put themselves up 7 - 2 when D. Vedeja broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. After 79 minutes Abadin's H. Marías contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Abadin had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

Abadin's top performer was clearly D. Vedeja. E. Osorez turned in a dismal performance, however. Garraf's best player was A. Lupaşcu. On the other hand, N. De Carlo's play was disheartening. The match ends 7 - 2.
