Pelotudos 1 - 2 Levski
(383040046)

25-08-2012 15.10
Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at
Pelotudos Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Mattias Börjesson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Clarence Brock and
Milan Mate.
The derby had been the talk of
Barcelona all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Pelotudos had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
They fielded: Miquilena - Leleu, Costanza, Hirshorn - Vučković, Ismail, Martínez, Aristimuño - Orrego, Spigt, Ferreira Machado.
Levski tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: da Arnela - Simmler, Backé, Garastegui - Sandli, Pensa, Kor, Kašelis, Kushmaro - Velasco, de Minaya.
Pelotudos seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
The wings were the focus of most of Levski's attacks today.
What ever got into
M. Backé, the crowd mumbled, as he suddenly struck a cross pass through his own defence - ending up right in front of Pelotudos's
A. Aristimuño, who easily put the ball away for 1 - 0 after 18 minutes.
Levski had a chance to level the score as
F. de Minaya suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar.
A lot of people in the terraces claimed the penalty resulting in Levski's
F. Garastegui equaliser for 1 - 1 was a mistake by the referee. He did, however, have a very good view of the situation from his position.
Levski had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 43 minutes in when
G. Pensa came up alone against
L. Miquilena who managed a block.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
Levski claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.
After 60 minutes, the Pelotudos coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
D. Vučković off the field.
J. Drogoń took his place.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 65 minutes when
J. Velasco came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
Levski had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
M. Kor got himself booked. The manager of Levski was not happy.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for Levski, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
Levski's
M. Backé managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 85 minutes. 1 - 2.
Levski had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.
The most dominating Pelotudos player was without a doubt
P. Orrego.
However,
J. Drogoń made a disastrous appearance.
Levski's best player was
G. Pensa.
On the other hand,
B. da Arnela's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 2.
