Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Rac. Andúj. DreamTeam2002 mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. The visiting O. Abufa was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 7 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. DreamTeam2002 had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. After 10 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave A. Silva a chance to increase the lead for DreamTeam2002, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. After 19 minutes, the defensive line of Rac. Andúj created a counterattack through the middle that gave R. Ristna a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. DreamTeam2002 increased their lead after 58 minutes when M. Carlsson broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. By now, the players in DreamTeam2002 felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. With 62 minutes played, the Rac. Andúj coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Á. Oviedo came on, A. Abendaño had to leave the fray. It took several tries, but Rac. Andúj managed to break through on the left after 68 minutes, getting the ball to S. Vannieuwenhuyse who easily reduced the lead to make the score 1 - 3. The referee showed Rac. Andúj's S. Moldoveanu the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. I. Valles came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over D. Bilger but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. With 74 minutes gone, Á. Oviedo suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Rac.
