(383067236)

07-07-2012 15.10
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 22446 to
Tobaltius Arena.
Zygmunt Knowski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Juhani Karjalainen and
Cassian Mihalache.
Tobaltas had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
They fielded: Karnaattu - Prażuch, Balle, Arlequín, Staniunaitis, Filipczuk - Fallböhmer, Pijaca, Cobarrubias - Brandby, Torres Calderón.
AVER started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
Starters: Tomei - García, Kreitmeyr - Marinangeli, Flensburger, Allen, Todorov, Tillner - Zafra, Klitoridis, Hahnemann.
For their match strategy, Tobaltas had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
AVER took the lead 3 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle.
J. Marinangeli was the scorer.
The home crowd cheered when, after 12 minutes,
D. Hahnemann's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
With 13 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Tobaltas resulted in a counterattack that set
J. Prażuch free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
The visitors'
D. Hahnemann took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 26 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for AVER.
C. Cobarrubias almost reduced the deficit, having drawn the entire left side defence away, but the shot went straight into the arms of the goalkeeper.
43 minutes in, Tobaltas's
E. Staniunaitis received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
0 - 2 was the score after the first half.
This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.
The visitors added to their lead 51 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by AVER's
V. Todorov slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 3.
After this, you could see that the players of AVER were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
The heat made it a terrible day for
J. Filipczuk, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players.
Tobaltas had a brilliant opportunity to reply as
M. Brandby received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only
S. Tomei's reflexes saved him.
After 65 minutes, following yet another great corner,
M. Arlequín's flick on at the near post reached
N. Pijaca, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick.
Tobaltas's
J. Filipczuk was shown a yellow card after 66 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Tobaltas had to make a substitution after 74 minutes.
C. Cobarrubias limped off the field and was replaced by
J. Tibatá.
Tobaltas had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
Most important Tobaltas player was
R. Balle.
However,
J. Tibatá made a disastrous appearance.
A. Klitoridis performed admirably for AVER.
S. Tomei on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 3.
