(383077110)

11-08-2012 15.10
The crowd of 23870 turning up at
Gemini Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Jędrek Brojek was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jácint Nagy and
Marek Kellings.
Gemini decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Lineup: Nieśmiałek - Sereno, Pamphile, Polučanskis, Maandag - Suar, Romero, Thielemans, Jitaru - Salo, Loose.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Cazurros.
Starters: Wiszowata - Žungul, Jovanovic, Mrčela - Drewnowski, Gugov, Falavigna, Casalderrei, Roda - Rose, Berdiqulov.
Cazurros seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
After 11 minutes,
B. Suar came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Gemini the lead.
V. Žungul was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
Cazurros were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
After 17 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
M. Sereno gave the Gemini supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0.
A. Loose increased the lead for Gemini to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
After 20 minutes,
A. Loose put Gemini ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
After this, you could see that the players of Gemini were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Halftime score was 4 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Gemini, with 58 percent of the ball.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 63 minutes, Gemini did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
B. Suar was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 5 - 0.
With 69 minutes played,
P. Drewnowski of Cazurros fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
After 73 minutes Gemini's
T. Salo contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
Gemini put themselves up 6 - 0 when
N. Jitaru broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Cazurros had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
82 minutes in,
S. Mrčela made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but
S. Nieśmiałek refused to let the ball slip by him.
Gemini claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
Gemini's best player was
F. Polučanskis.
On the other hand,
A. Loose's play was disheartening.
The most dominating Cazurros player was without a doubt
P. Berdiqulov.
However,
K. Wiszowata made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 6 - 0.
