Tripepsi 1 - 1 Xàtiva (383091145)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 13367 that came out to Tripepsi Stadium. Antoniusz Wilk was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Douwe Mulders and Adolfo Ruete. Tripepsi decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Lineup: Bogado - Villegas, Nelson, Elezarriaga, Nivellini - Zaharia, Villadiego, Porca, Valmayor - Barrie, Obieta.

Xàtiva tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Caparros - Dryl, Grześków, Hical - Fin, Ducher, Demetri, Riquelme, Bladner - Ostapčukas, Paralta.

Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile E. Obieta. The referee showed Xàtiva's P. Grześków the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Tripepsi took the lead 38 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as A. Barrie elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. A. Villegas could have increased the lead after 39 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Xàtiva, with 62 percent of the ball.

Perseverence paid off for Xàtiva, as their M. Riquelme equalised making it 1 - 1 with a fabulous free kick. With 49 minutes played A. Barrie almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. I. Fin of Xàtiva was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Xàtiva had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 59 minutes in when F. Ducher came up alone against J. Bogado who managed a block. Tripepsi's V. Porca got himself booked for a foul. Xàtiva were forced into a substitution as G. Ostapčukas couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing D. Barreau to come in off the bench. Tripepsi almost scored after a swift counterattack 71 minutes into the game, but E. Obieta put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. Possession in this half belonged to Xàtiva, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

E. Obieta performed admirably for Tripepsi. J. Villadiego turned in a dismal performance, however. Xàtiva's top performer was clearly M. Riquelme. L. Caparros on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 1.
