Dark skies made the crowd of 14529 at
Real Magno F.C. Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Rotem Geva was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Pablo Ascoeta and
Marco Fabbricini.
Magno had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: 慈松 (Cisong) - Iriarte, Konopacki, Lamers - Karpiel, Beckflod, Schneiderlein, Vanheer, Teiska - Borralho, Novičić.
p.p.c.c tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Moreira - Yañez Mariño, Piskorek, Murray - Musemić, Villani, Valenzi, Sarphati, Treusch - Ginestà, Kocabaş.
p.p.c.c seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
Magno took the lead after 21 minutes as a result of
B. Beckflod's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
p.p.c.c's
G. Valenzi had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 30 minutes having been played.
V. Pons was the replacement.
p.p.c.c players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
Coming through the middle
J. Yañez Mariño almost scored the equaliser for p.p.c.c after 31 minutes, but
王. 慈松 (Cisong) made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
After 35 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
F. Borralho might have resulted in another goal for Magno. However,
F. Moreira made a spectacular save.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Magno's
K. Karpiel somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
M. Novičić, who struck for 2 - 0.
Magno managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when
B. Beckflod cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
J. Vanheer increased the lead for Magno to 4 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Confident in their lead, Magno's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
J. Teiska had a fantastic opportunity to put Magno up another goal 44 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0.
Magno enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Magno tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
E. Lamers slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 5 - 0, 57 minutes into the game.
Magno put in a good effort on the right, but
F. Borralho saw his volley fly wide of the mark 63 minutes into the game.
73 minutes in, p.p.c.c's
S. Kocabaş received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
The visitors replied 74 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 5 - 1, as
D. Ginestà dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Magno, with 58 percent of the ball.
Magno's top performer was clearly
J. Vanheer.
王. 慈松 (Cisong) turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating p.p.c.c player was without a doubt
O. Villani.
V. Pons was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
