(383097993)

28-07-2012 15.15
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Les Salines saw a crowd turnout of 24788.
Stuart Whateley was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Karl Friedrich Karpfenbruch and
José Vicente Molina.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Darnius.
Starters: García Huidobro - Belver, Bohner - Lembo, Bannò, Salazar, Būdvydas, Bombarely - Filomena López, Monserrat, Sánchez Mejías.
Street started off with a 4-5-1 lineup.
The following players took the field: Santillana - Múgica, Tabernero, Aritzaleta, Reina - León Borrero, Dorobanţu, Luengas, Sabri, Palomé - Hadzhiyski.
Darnius tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
Street took the lead after
B. Hadzhiyski curved a free kick into the net. 0 - 1
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
A. Filomena López from Darnius a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 32 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
After 34 minutes of play,
R. Bombarely evened things up for Darnius with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1.
With 39 minutes played,
A. Sabri of Street fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
J. Monserrat's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 40 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
J. Sánchez Mejías who knocked it in for Darnius. 2 - 1!
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Darnius scored another to make it 3 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
G. Bannò after 41 minutes.
3 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Darnius, with 56 percent of the ball.
A. Filomena López should probably have put his team up another goal after 57 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
P. Santillana kept the visitors in the game.
V. Būdvydas wanted to play on, but the Darnius coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by
D. Traves.
It was obvious that team Darnius had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
69 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
G. Bannò broke through, making the score 4 - 1 for Darnius.
Cheers filled the stadium as
J. Sánchez Mejías broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 1 to Darnius.
With 75 minutes played, the Street coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
J. Llauradó came on,
A. Sabri had to leave the fray.
Darnius had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
Darnius's best player was
A. Filomena López.
L. Lembo on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Street player was without a doubt
A. Dorobanţu.
P. Reina turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
