previous 4/10 next 6/10  iMpulsa 6 - 2 Fastidiaos (383103018)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 9764 at Nuevo iMpulsa Arena today. Enn Pool was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Cristinel Stoica and Nikolas Papanastasatos. iMpulsa decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Lineup: Moreras - Ciaño, Serantes - Tielemann, Krieger, Dias Correia, Ragnarsson, Mämmilä - Vanderlijden, Arrechea, Bunster.

Fastidiaos had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. They fielded: Cardell - Inchurandieta, Mansoor, Laiseca Allende, Gediz - Redei, Sacramento, Damaso, Räsänen, 杉山 (Sugiyama) - Nordstedt.

iMpulsa tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Fastidiaos. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to J. Arrechea, but the iMpulsa player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! iMpulsa's J. Bunster increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 17 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave I. Inchurandieta from Fastidiaos a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 18 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 25 minutes, A. Laiseca Allende came close to reducing the score with a free kick aimed near the left post, but H. Moreras warded the ball off to a corner. The referee showed Fastidiaos's J. Damaso the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Things were deteriorating for the away team as iMpulsa scored another to make it 3 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for D. Vanderlijden after 35 minutes. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. iMpulsa enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

Central attacks were the recipe of the day for iMpulsa, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. T. Nordstedt finished off the counterattack of Fastidiaos from the left rather easily, making the score 3 - 1. After 51 minutes Fastidiaos's A. Laiseca Allende limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. In a rapid move 63 minutes into the match, J. Arrechea of iMpulsa lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked J. Bunster who easily hit it home to make it 4 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy! By now, the players in iMpulsa felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Fastidiaos's J. Damaso was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 65 minutes. G. Carleer was given a chance to change things around. Still ahead in the game after 70 minutes, iMpulsa made some tactical adjustments. O. Krieger and T. Tielemann swapped positions. The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed Fastidiaos's coach gave E. Pascual Muro the opportunity the player had been hoping for. A. Mansoor reluctantly left the field. As the game started to slip away for Fastidiaos, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. After 75 minutes, Fastidiaos switched 秀. 杉山 (Sugiyama) with P. Paños, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. The coach of iMpulsa was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 80 minutes, F. Almunia came on for O. Krieger. After 84 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Bunster gave the iMpulsa supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 1. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for J. Bunster. Fastidiaos's K. Redei lived up to his reputation for finding unexpected ways to get the ball in the net when he sent a nifty little pass over to E. Pascual Muro who finished for 5 - 2 with 85 minutes of the match played. 86 minutes in, Fastidiaos appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in iMpulsa's D. Vanderlijden increasing the lead to 6 - 2. There was concern in the stands when, at the 89 minute mark, Fastidiaos's J. Sacramento hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. iMpulsa had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.

iMpulsa's top performer was clearly J. Bunster. On the other hand, H. Moreras's play was disheartening. Fastidiaos's best player was E. Pascual Muro. P. Paños was a disappointment, however. The match ends 6 - 2.
