MITOS used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Racing's opponents know to be wary of E. Pedra's speed, but it made little difference as he flew past the defence 11 minutes into the game. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive! Some great play up the middle by MITOS led to a chance for O. Herben to score after 18 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. The referee showed MITOS's O. Herben the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Y. Lansink was called on to replace Racing's R. Chalfon after 35 minutes following a nasty collision. 39 minutes into the game, 刘. 清维 (Qingwei) had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. MITOS took the lead after 41 minutes as a result of E. Grabiński's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. B. Cholley should probably have put his team up another goal after 42 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by V. Unbedahts kept the visitors in the game. Racing earned themselves a free kick after a counterattack wasn't dealt with adequately by their opponents. J. Roccaforte powered the shot in for 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by MITOS, with 56 percent of the ball.

After 50 minutes, the Racing coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving V. Sousa Cabral off the field. G. Corvino took his place. A well placed corner kick from B. Cholley was followed by O. Herben's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for MITOS, the score now 2 - 1. The MITOS players could smell victory in the air. E. Grabiński wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for A. Chłapek after 65 minutes. H. Uehara left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 69 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. P. Nilsson was the replacement. With 69 minutes played, the Racing coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. B. Ittlinger came on, D. Konoplev had to leave the fray. L. Mangold became the new Racing captain. Content with how the game was proceeding, the MITOS coach let U. Sivebæk replace K. Ismail after 71 minutes. MITOS were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. MITOS solidified their lead at the 79 minute mark, as B. Cholley dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1. With 81 minutes played, MITOS's J. Lagertorp almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Racing's J. Roccaforte was able to reply, after 83 minutes, making the score 3 - 2 with a well struck penalty. After 84 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Lagertorp gave the MITOS supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 2. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in MITOS's A. Chłapek increasing the lead to 5 - 2. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. J. Driessen squirmed through their central defence after 88 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 2. MITOS had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

MITOS's best player was P. Nilsson. J. Windberg turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Racing player was E. García de Toledo. However, G. Corvino made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 2.
