CELTA 1 - 3 FCP (383118936)

Clear skies welcomed the 11814 spectators who had made their way to CELTA FUT Arena. Eero Leinikka was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tore Strauss and Xeno Friesen. CELTA started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Asmussen - Takizawa, Eschborn, Bellevue - van Meeuwen, Timinas, Klett, Larsson, Ţiţeica - Estenaga, Adienis.

A 5-5-0 alignment was the formation of choice for FCP. The following players took the field: Silvino - Dulgheru, Kaljumäe, Hand, Pedrioli, Boukali - Granell, Froumajoux, Daniel, Palavecino, Gil García -.

CELTA seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. FCP saw most attack opportunities on the wings. After 19 minutes CELTA's M. Adienis limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. CELTA had a good opportunity to take the lead as M. Timinas came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of C. Silvino. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 21 minutes into the match, and T. Dulgheru wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. After 28 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by CELTA was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. FCP's S. Granell had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to F. Gil García who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. D. Ţiţeica made a superb strike after 30 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to CELTA, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

R. Daniel of FCP took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 47 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as J. Estenaga tried lifting the ball over keeper C. Silvino. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. Some fine movement on the left led to a FCP goal after 71 minutes, making it 0 - 3. L. Froumajoux was noted down as the scorer. CELTA's E. Larsson was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 79 minutes. Y. Pedrioli left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. P. Kellner was the replacement. In an effort to secure the lead, FCP changed their tactic after 82 minutes. CELTA's M. Klett cut towards the middle after 83 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by CELTA, with 63 percent of the ball.

CELTA's top performer was clearly M. Klett. E. Eschborn turned in a dismal performance, however. FCP's best player was F. Gil García. However, C. Silvino made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 3.
