previous 9/10 next 1/10  Inter 0 - 2 Taun (383119149)

It had rained all day, but 10063 hardy fans still made it out to El Coliseum. Richard Ó Donnabháin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mel McIntosh and Manuel de Mingo. Inter started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Kajanto - Verardi, Corridoni, Donat - Calvache, Giorgetti, Kottke, Ferraté, Oraa - Sancese, Cabot.

Taun decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Padoin - Mäkelä, Nachlik, Navarro - Gligorić, Gijsbers, Villalba, Fidalgo, Mangin - Suran, Kopsas.

The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvellous free kick after 6 minutes, but J. Kajanto made a beautiful one-handed save. J. Navarro was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! Taun's G. Nachlik managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 34 minutes. 0 - 1. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Taun, with 52 percent of the ball.

S. Villalba increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. Taun's V. Fidalgo made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 63 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Inter's R. Calvache was shown a yellow card after 66 minutes for slicing down an opponent. G. Nachlik came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over J. Kajanto but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Taun claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

The most dominating Inter player was without a doubt L. Sancese. J. Kajanto was a disappointment, however. Taun's best player was M. Mäkelä. On the other hand, S. Villalba's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 2.
