Mide 4 - 2 EDR1
(383128461)

04-08-2012 15.15
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 20265 to
Madeix Stadium.
Carmine Costa was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Paw Nygaard and
Arne Eberlein.
Everyone was excited about the upcoming
Catalunya derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
Mide tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Cantó - Decoussemaker, Marinello, Janssen - Klaus, Paulsson, Frigoli, Acebal, Cagliani - Perruchoud, Chaliba.
EDR1 had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Fianchini - Drosdek, Zaveršek, Moyà - Memeo, Lahtinen, Custers, Veittikoski, Stetson - Egg, Haye.
Right from the start it was obvious that Mide were expecting an easy victory.
EDR1 were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
Mide took the lead 3 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
E. Perruchoud elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Mide scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
P. Chaliba after 13 minutes.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for EDR1, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
Coming in on the left,
K. Veittikoski did everything right to get a goal for EDR1 after 14 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper.
The visitors got one back when
Q. Stetson finished off a pass from the left and scored after 28 minutes. 2 - 1 was the score.
A. Haye of EDR1 was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Mide's
J. Klaus increasing the lead to 3 - 1.
By now, the players in Mide felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1.
Mide had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
57 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
A. Paulsson broke through, making the score 4 - 1 for Mide.
EDR1 had to make a substitution after 59 minutes.
I. Custers limped off the field and was replaced by
R. Domica.
The visitors replied 63 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 4 - 2, as
P. Egg dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper.
A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 64 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Mide's
P. Chaliba to one side and produced a red card for the player.
The Mide captaincy was handed to
J. Klaus.
Possession in this half belonged to Mide, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
Mide's top performer was clearly
M. Cantó.
A. Cagliani turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating EDR1 player was without a doubt
P. Egg.
However,
G. Fianchini made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 4 - 2.
