It was obvious that Pollastre were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. TarracoPower saw most attack opportunities on the wings. TarracoPower's Z. Hegedüs was shown a yellow card after 11 minutes for slicing down an opponent. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when R. Haslinger slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against A. Pietzonka, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. B. Lilliu acted with superior experience when, 23 minutes into the match, he predicted a pass, intercepted it and then finished off with a goal. 0 - 1 for TarracoPower! The pressing tactics used by Pollastre were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by TarracoPower, with 52 percent of the ball.

Pollastre needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 48 minutes P. Ciulla made way for X. Ramirás. Pollastre pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. The TarracoPower players could smell victory in the air. P. Izutarregui wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for F. Sáez after 60 minutes. 66 minutes into the game, TarracoPower worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. C. Tuvner made a superb strike after 67 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. Attacking on the wings was the choice for TarracoPower, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. With 68 minutes played, TarracoPower put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Z. Hegedüs. With 73 minutes played, the Pollastre coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. M. Tynilä came on, A. Illundain had to leave the fray. Pollastre claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
