previous 6/10 next 8/10  KITXO 0 - 2 Waldos (383134106)

12953 spectators had found their way to A.C. KITXO Arena, despite the heavy rain. Riku Majavuo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lothar Moos and Cristián Echandia. KITXO tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Torres Camargo - Lama Chaves, López, Pons - Morsiani, Gelabert, Landi, Erzhan, Merino - bin Othman, Brénot.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Waldos. Starters: Valdenebro - Gousseau, Bruley, Blasch - Walker, Rozlach, Geluk, Berga, Roos - Wael, Gabet.

Pressing was the tactic of the day for KITXO. Waldos clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. R. López didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. After 24 minutes KITXO's D. Morsiani contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 34 minutes into the match left Waldos's S. Wael completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Waldos, with 54 percent of the ball.

F. Rozlach was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. The bench was restless, and with 66 minutes passed KITXO's coach gave M. Kocademir the opportunity the player had been hoping for. B. Pons reluctantly left the field. After 66 minutes, KITXO switched C. Landi with T. Mpourousis, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, KITXO's A. Merino was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes. E. Montoto was given a chance to change things around. At this time in the match, KITXO were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. G. Bruley of Waldos took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 85 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. Confident in their lead, Waldos's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. R. Homs was called on to replace Waldos's S. Wael after 86 minutes following a nasty collision. Waldos had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

K. bin Othman performed admirably for KITXO. E. Montoto on the other hand, had a terrible day. Waldos's top performer was clearly G. Bruley. R. Homs turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
