It was obvious that lugo.c.f had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. After 41 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Gómez gave the lugo.c.f supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0. At that, J. Gómez was noted down for a hat trick! Halftime score was 4 - 0. lugo.c.f enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 74 percent of possession.

lugo.c.f put themselves up 5 - 0 when H. Euverman broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. E. Rosselli dispatched a majestic long shot 55 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. 72 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as P. de los Mozos broke through, making the score 6 - 0 for lugo.c.f. Usually a powerful player on the field, A. Sanjuán looked kind of pale and tired under the hot sun. lugo.c.f managed to extend their lead to 7 - 0 when A. Wiesinger cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. After 80 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by P. Obelleiro might have resulted in another goal for lugo.c.f. However, D. Sorlí made a spectacular save. Possession in this half belonged to lugo.c.f, who controlled the ball 79 percent of the time.
