BarU 2 - 2 CUERVOS (383166634)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Parc Central del Vallès saw a crowd turnout of 9910. Lothar Glänzer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thomas Weiss and Lefter Kürkçü. The derby had been the talk of Catalunya all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. BarU had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players took the field: Piany - Salas, Levy, Pati - Rodríguez Navas, Zamora, Ligtenberg, Blazhaev - Ramiro, Altın, Ortiz el Mozo.

CUERVOS started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Woch - Lahtinen, Mrazek, Urraca - Grzesiek, Roodenburg, Guendica, Dudka, Botana - Klein, Derbisaliev.

CUERVOS used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. After 8 minutes, CUERVOS sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached P. Grzesiek, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 1. CUERVOS's A. Lahtinen was shown a yellow card after 9 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 35 minutes into the game, P. Blazhaev came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. The referee showed CUERVOS's P. Grzesiek the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 39 minutes played, B. Mrazek nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. It was 0 - 1 at the break. BarU had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

BarU put pressure on the visitors' central defence 63 minutes into the game, but R. Ligtenberg couldn't find an opening. After 64 minutes of play, O. Ortiz el Mozo equalised for BarU after an elegant attack from the right. BarU had a good opportunity to take the lead as L. Salas came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of P. Woch. With 71 minutes played, CUERVOS's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to P. Grzesiek he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 2. After 77 minutes of play, A. Ramiro evened things up for BarU with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. BarU claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Most important BarU player was L. Salas. On the other hand, Q. Piany's play was disheartening. CUERVOS's top performer was clearly R. Klein. R. Urraca was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
