Maillard increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 38 minutes. The referee showed Israhimovic's F. Terrin the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Unfortunately for RCIB, C. Conti was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. F. Gatell replaced him. Israhimovic had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. Israhimovic put themselves up 3 - 0 when M. Candrix broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Israhimovic lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave D. Maillard from Israhimovic a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 42 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 43 minutes, J. Baena put Israhimovic ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. A. Olmedo was called on to replace Israhimovic's P. Martens after 44 minutes following a nasty collision. F. Haytour of RCIB received a yellow card after 44 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. With 44 minutes played, Israhimovic put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to J. Puig, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. It was 5 - 0 at the break. Israhimovic enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 81 percent of possession.

A great save by keeper S. Nieto after 50 minutes kept the visitors in the game after J. Puig struck from the left with a real cannonball. It was obvious that Israhimovic had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. RCIB's counterattacks created a good chance for J. Pasqual on the right after 59 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. After 62 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and R. Gutiérrez-Solana gave the Israhimovic supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 6 - 0. 66 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as D. Maillard broke through, making the score 7 - 0 for Israhimovic. 68 minutes into the match R. Gutiérrez-Solana put Israhimovic ahead 8 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Boj got himself booked. The manager of RCIB was not happy. Israhimovic claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 85 percent.

Israhimovic's best player was M. Candrix. S. Dalmo turned in a dismal performance, however. RCIB's top performer was clearly J. Pasqual. J. Boj on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 8 - 0.
