Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 11152 to Capua Arena. Krister Christiansson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jaime Andreu and Jørn Wollesen. Cryxus tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Inzoli - Gulino, Średniawa, Belloso - Malagelada, Sözüsöz, Kakuja, Modzelewski, Pollari - Ronconi, Martiskainen.

Gemina decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Gois - Zeiss, Garripoli, Ruiz Aledo - Villegas, Hansen, Ðurašinović, Cáceres, Nasiopoulos - Ştirban, Dieval.

Cryxus took a creative approach on the field. With 15 minutes having been played, his teammates looked on in disbelief as M. Średniawa thoughtlessly misplayed the ball, setting up Gemina's J. Villegas for an easy goal. 0 - 1. N. Nasiopoulos sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from J. Villegas after 25 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 2. After 31 minutes, Gemina's J. Villegas burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. A marvellous Cryxus effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 34 minutes by K. Modzelewski, making the score 1 - 3. With 36 minutes played, A. Sözüsöz of Cryxus fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 1 - 3 was the score after the first half. Cryxus claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

The crowd gasped as P. Gulino of Cryxus was flattened by an opponent after 71 minutes and had to be carried off. G. Rojas Manrique came in off the bench. D. Malagelada tried to get a goal back for Cryxus but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. After 78 minutes Gemina's M. Garripoli contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Cryxus had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

M. Martiskainen performed admirably for Cryxus. E. Inzoli turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Gemina player was A. Ştirban. M. Garripoli on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 3.
