Clear skies welcomed the 14200 spectators who had made their way to
Pets stadium.
Torbjörn Rosener was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Huibert Lukassen and
Otso Järviseutu.
Pets started off with a 5-2-3 lineup.
They fielded: Kleibeuker - Pérez-Serrano, Kholomeev, Pachos, Ardilla, Palombarini - Souchard, Verdure - Necula, Rotulo, Beltran.
Boleoni decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Elderson - Isasaga, Carazo, Labadía, Ahlfeldt - Gorriarán, Debaveye, Vujnović, da Costa - Ritto, Kutin.
Boleoni clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
Boleoni almost scored after a swift counterattack 21 minutes into the game, but
I. Vujnović put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal.
Boleoni's counterattacks created a good chance for
B. Debaveye on the right after 23 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar.
The referee showed Pets's
J. Ardilla the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
26 minutes into the game,
G. Beltran had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
S. Domagalski.
0 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Pets, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.
After 68 minutes Boleoni's
N. Labadía limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
70 minutes into the game, Pets wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
R. Pérez-Serrano gave
A. Nevers a quick hug as he left the field.
After 71 minutes, the Pets coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
J. Ardilla off the field.
F. Esparber took his place.
Pets took the lead 78 minutes in, as
S. Domagalski broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Boleoni's
R. Gorriarán was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 80 minutes.
Ó. Endueñas was given a chance to change things around.
82 minutes into the game, Pets seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
solid level of organisation.
The visitors'
V. da Costa came close to levelling the score after 83 minutes with a free kick that went just wide of the top left corner.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
G. Souchard from Pets a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 86 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
There was no way Boleoni's
N. Labadía could continue to play after this, and no replacements were available!
87 minutes into the game, Pets seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
passable.
F. Esparber's speed was clear to see after 88 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
S. Domagalski who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 2 - 0.
89 minutes in, Pets's
C. Necula received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Pets enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
V. Rotulo performed admirably for Pets.
However,
L. Kleibeuker made a disastrous appearance.
Boleoni's top performer was clearly
M. Ritto.
I. Vujnović was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 0.
