previous 5/10 next 7/10  FC_Tokyo 6 - 0 Newcastle (383229030)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 6502 at Ajinomoto Stadium today. Joel Lisker was the appointed referee. FC_Tokyo started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Matveev - Saltnes, Faria, Robles Acuña, Calvó - Chapín, Gołoś, Fernández Bea, León Chacón - Aguilera, Servino.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Newcastle. Lineup: Ximénez - Sancristóbal, Barberà, Vallès, Madero - Cafranga, Carabias, Perelló, La Plaza - Ledu, Gutiérrez de León.

A well placed corner kick from R. Servino was followed by D. León Chacón's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for FC_Tokyo, the score now 1 - 0. With 6 minutes played, FC_Tokyo put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to J. Aguilera, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. FC_Tokyo's C. Calvó was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 8 minutes. The score became 3 - 0 at 22 minutes into the game, when FC_Tokyo were given a penalty which R. Servino blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in FC_Tokyo's D. León Chacón increasing the lead to 4 - 0. 31 minutes into the match FC_Tokyo's R. Fernández Bea viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. T. Perelló was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Newcastle's T. Qoraih had to come off the bench. 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to FC_Tokyo, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.

FC_Tokyo put themselves up 5 - 0 when M. Robles Acuña broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. After this, you could see that the players of FC_Tokyo were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. After 54 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by J. Aguilera might have resulted in another goal for FC_Tokyo. However, P. Ximénez made a spectacular save. After 69 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Aguilera gave the FC_Tokyo supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 6 - 0. FC_Tokyo had most of the ball, with 74 percent of possession.

FC_Tokyo's top performer was clearly C. Calvó. On the other hand, G. Matveev's play was disheartening. The most dominating Newcastle player was without a doubt A. Carabias. However, P. Ximénez made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 0.
