Navarro of HoolPallers fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. With 23 minutes played, the visitors could have drawn level after A. Durrant came through the middle, but his kick went wide. The visiting team's K. Zamani was able to score the 1 - 1 equaliser with a header 30 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. With 35 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as C. Gorgal flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to HoolPallers, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

After 59 minutes, a long pass from HoolPallers's O. Özarı caught the defence out of position. M. Rami collected the ball, and with the goal at his mercy calmly rolled the ball just inside the post. 2 - 2. J. Valverde was called on to replace Deportiva's M. Méndez Mercado after 81 minutes following a nasty collision. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 86 minutes into the match left HoolPallers's M. Rami completely free to score. 2 - 3 for the visitors. Deportiva players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. After 87 minutes, I. Iraola made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 3 - 3. The home side put themselves ahead 4 - 3 after 88 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from J. Casanueva, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Deportiva claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

Deportiva's top performer was clearly J. Valdivia del Corral. I. Golpillanes turned in a dismal performance, however. E. Lerdo Sáenz performed admirably for HoolPallers. On the other hand, C. Navarro's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 3.
