Clouds darkened the skies at Vampires Stadium as 6844 spectators turned up for the match. Kurt Menck was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Aleksi Rautakoski and Quentin Pérez. Right from the start it was obvious that Vampires were expecting an easy victory. J. A questionable penalty 17 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as A. Dedu knocked the ball home. Coming from the right, J. Monteiro Moreira almost managed to score another goal for Vampires, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 31 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as W. Naliwajko broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Vampires. With 32 minutes played, J. Monteiro Moreira of Vampires fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. P. Liot squirmed through their central defence after 33 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Vampires claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 82 percent.

Estudiantes's R. Ortega Aguilar placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but A. Irigoiti couldn't finish. Vampires solidified their lead at the 59 minute mark, as A. Dedu dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0. Confident in their lead, Vampires's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 74 minutes played, Vampires's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to J. Monteiro Moreira he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 5 - 0. 79 minutes into the match A. Dedu put Vampires ahead 6 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. That made three goals for A. Dedu and he was marked down for the hat trick. Vampires put in a good effort on the right, but I. Gheorghiu saw his volley fly wide of the mark 87 minutes into the game. After 87 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by 健. 小室 (Komuro) might have resulted in another goal for Vampires. However, A. Fernández Solar made a spectacular save. Possession in this half belonged to Vampires, who controlled the ball 80 percent of the time.

Vampires's best player was I. Gheorghiu. S. Dimakakos was a disappointment, however. Estudiantes's top performer was clearly C. Aunes. A. Irigoiti turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 6 - 0.
