The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 10228 had shown up at Las Viñas for the match. Marín Díez, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. Akelarre's Ó. Ajofrín managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 33 minutes. 1 - 2. With 34 minutes having been played, SanBartolomé scored to make it 2 - 2. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but C. Gatell was marked down as the scorer. The crowd gasped as F. Piñero of Akelarre was flattened by an opponent after 39 minutes and had to be carried off. E. Sentias came in off the bench. SanBartolomé took the lead 40 minutes into the match after a magnificent free kick by G. Murgó that made the score 3 - 2. SanBartolomé's M. Moisescu was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 41 minutes. Halftime score was 3 - 2. SanBartolomé claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

Given a free kick in a difficult position after 55 minutes, SanBartolomé tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. The crowd was silenced 59 minutes into the match as the visiting team's N. Urtaran came in from the left, levelling the score to 3 - 3. With 76 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 4 - 3 lead as R. Díaz flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. The home team will be cursing S. Barrero Ortega for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 4 - 4 after 81 minutes. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 84 minutes into the match left Akelarre's Q. Marín Díez completely free to score. 4 - 5 for the visitors. SanBartolomé had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

R. Díaz performed admirably for SanBartolomé. J. Parada was a disappointment, however. Akelarre's best player was Ó. Ajofrín. However, L. Antxiondo made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 5.
