Due to an all-day shower, 4723 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Midtjylland F.C. Arena. Luigi Stagni was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jimmy Mantle and Mark Bubendey. Midtjylland started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. SQBC took the lead after 9 minutes making the score 0 - 1. J. Sevilla placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. There was concern in the stands when, at the 14 minute mark, Midtjylland's F. Campamà hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. F. Sanmartín made a superb strike after 20 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. S. Barbarà was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, SQBC's 欧. 嘉轶 (Jiayi) managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 2 With the scoreboard showing that 33 minutes had been played, SQBC nearly put themselves up another goal after M. Vázquez Ochoa came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Midtjylland's C. Noguera cut towards the middle after 34 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 2. Midtjylland's X. Gabín had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 35 minutes having been played. A. Coscollà was the replacement. M. Soto Ruiz was handed the Midtjylland captain's armband. Due to some great work on the right wing Midtjylland's J. Corao was able to even the score after 41 minutes to make the score 2 - 2. After 42 minutes Midtjylland's C. Noguera limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to F. Sanmartín, but the Midtjylland player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! After 43 minutes, Midtjylland's S. Muralla fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! 3 - 2 was the score after the first half. Midtjylland had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

With 60 minutes played, SQBC's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to R. Arroba he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 3. F. Sanmartín gave Midtjylland the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 4 - 3 A. Coscollà was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. The visiting team's M. Vázquez Ochoa was able to score the 4 - 4 equaliser with a header 78 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. After a fine move down the middle R. Cabanilla nearly gave the home side a goal after 79 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. After 84 minutes, Midtjylland raised their score by one when C. Noguera's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by S. Muralla. 5 - 4. R. Arroba seemed to be huffing and puffing 86 minutes into the match. F. Sanmartín of Midtjylland took advantage of his obvious fatigue to chip in past the keeper. 6 - 4 This third goal completed a hattrick for F. Sanmartín. A great save by keeper F. Isturiz after 87 minutes kept the visitors in the game after F. Sanmartín struck from the left with a real cannonball. Midtjylland claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Midtjylland's top performer was clearly F. Sanmartín. R. Ulied on the other hand, had a terrible day. P. Munilla performed admirably for SQBC. R. Arroba was a disappointment, however. The match ends 6 - 4.
