(383297400)

30-06-2012 14.10
2327 spectators had come to
C.B. Marbella Arenas this cloudy day.
Joel Loetscher was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Toine Fetter and
Dean Everett.
Marbella had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Osma - Nadal, Grimaldi, Meixús, Liébana - Cantor, Romero Maura, Goiburu, Mato - May, Bermusell.
Rapist decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Valenciaga - Vilallonga, Miranda, Caballero, Martínez - Ulzurrún, Velayo, Cosmovici, Martínez Moreno - Trujillo, González.
Marbella decided to play creatively.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
V. Mato, but the Marbella player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
R. Golpillanes was called on to replace Rapist's
A. Cosmovici after 20 minutes following a nasty collision.
Cheers filled the stadium as
J. May broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Marbella.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Marbella to 3 - 0 as
C. Meixús finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
J. Velayo's lack of experience almost gave Marbella a goal after 28 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
With 31 minutes played, Marbella's
J. May almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
Marbella claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.
A great save by keeper
A. Valenciaga after 53 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
Á. Nadal struck from the left with a real cannonball.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
S. Trujillo from Rapist a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 59 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
70 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
J. Bermusell broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Marbella.
After this, you could see that the players of Marbella were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Marbella put themselves up 5 - 0 when
J. Bermusell broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Marbella managed to extend their lead to 6 - 0 when
E. Romero Maura cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
F. Goiburu increased the lead for Marbella to 7 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Marbella had most of the ball, with 73 percent of possession.
Marbella's top performer was clearly
J. May.
E. Cantor on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Rapist's best player was
S. Trujillo.
However,
J. Caballero made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 7 - 0.
