Against a lesser team, trueba could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 39 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. T. Machmachi remonstrated furiously with the referee after granaerd had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch. 41 minutes into the game, trueba worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. trueba enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 77 percent of possession.

A late sliding challenge from D. Coves was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and trueba left a man down. The home crowd cheered when, after 51 minutes, E. Cañizares's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. M. Varela found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. 65 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 3 as J. Ezpeleta finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. E. Cañizares was, after 80 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper A. Cañete made the save. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by trueba, with 78 percent of the ball.

granaerd's best player was R. Dols. S. Ramos Rubio was a disappointment, however. Most important trueba player was J. Blanco Ramos. M. Varela turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
