It had rained all day, but 2501 hardy fans still made it out to Calavera CF Arena. Erwin Sabatini was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Christoph Hartig and Gene Cortez. Calavera decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Văleanu - Rissech, Gligore, Trujillo, Revón - Abolafio Martínez, Spínola, Torroba, Troja - Ebiaga, Corpancho.

simpson4 had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Patero - Banks, Gumucio, Merino, Gregorio - Fuendetodos, Matas, Carbonell, Pedrajas - Maestro, Bar Cendón.

With 4 minutes played A. Spínola almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Some great play up the middle by Calavera led to a chance for V. Troja to score after 27 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. With 28 minutes gone, T. Gumucio suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by simpson4 caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. F. Rissech slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing - F. Rissech's free kick had found the back of the net and put Calavera ahead 1 - 0! The home side's C. Revón came close to extending the lead 35 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but D. Patero managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. J. Gregorio had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today. Calavera's G. Abolafio Martínez saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 41 minutes. E. Trujillo's lack of experience almost gave simpson4 a goal after 42 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Calavera, with 69 percent of the ball.

V. Troja should probably have put his team up another goal after 57 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by D. Patero kept the visitors in the game. J. Ebiaga increased the lead for Calavera to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! 59 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as F. Rissech broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Calavera. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. G. Abolafio Martínez squirmed through their central defence after 63 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Calavera lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With 77 minutes played, Calavera put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to M. Corpancho, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Calavera had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.

Most important Calavera player was M. Corpancho. However, A. Văleanu made a disastrous appearance. simpson4's best player was L. Maestro. D. Patero turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
