3270 spectators arrived at
poa team Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Jens Zacho Graulund was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Daniel Davidsson and
Narcis Cocos.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for team.
The following players had been chosen: Díaz de la Serna - Iracorri, Uruñuela, Hristov, Santiago - Barro, García, Sanseverino, Olmos Blanco - Bendidouh, Galtzarra.
CDM started off with a 4-3-3 lineup.
Lineup: Abia - Matallana, Ramírez, Soanea, Soria Sancho - Krasimirov, Omil, de Palela - Mikelez, Puigdomènech, Campaner.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of CDM's
A. Soanea after 2 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
CDM's
J. Ramírez made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 18 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line.
The visitors'
A. Soanea took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 22 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for CDM.
28 minutes into the match CDM's
A. Puigdomènech head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
A. Soanea would have put CDM up another goal 29 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
After 39 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
A. Matallana who increased CDM's lead to 0 - 3.
40 minutes into the game,
R. Santiago had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
I. Tomov.
Halftime score was 0 - 3.
Possession in this half belonged to CDM, who controlled the ball 75 percent of the time.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 51 minutes, CDM did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
E. Mikelez was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 4.
By now, the players in CDM felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
E. Mikelez was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 70 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
With the scoreboard showing that 73 minutes had been played, CDM nearly put themselves up another goal after
Q. Omil came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
After 82 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
J. Ramírez to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5.
J. Soria Sancho hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving CDM's
V. de Palela an easy chance to knock it in for 0 - 6.
84 minutes into the match,
J. Campaner came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
CDM had most of the ball, with 80 percent of possession.
team's best player was
A. Galtzarra.
On the other hand,
C. García's play was disheartening.
The most dominating CDM player was without a doubt
E. Mikelez.
However,
O. Abia made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 6.
