(383688725)

25-08-2012 14.45
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 20618 at
Grim Team Malparitnongas Stadium today.
Henneke Perrott was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Wim Überhofen and
Endre Jávor.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grim.
The following players took the field: Rojas - Cassadó, Cao, Mestres, Arruego - Pinillos, Cazorro, Peláez, Albeiros - Monfero, Corn.
Aguilas decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Lineup: Tejedor - Cidre, Bordas, Magrinyà, Muruais - Nonell, Toro Calderón, Puyol, García Peñuela - Arabí, Castrelo do Val.
At the beginning of the game, Grim appeared to have already taken this victory to the bank.
Aguilas almost scored after a swift counterattack 3 minutes into the game, but
A. Arabí put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal.
E. Pinillos of Grim seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
J. Cassadó.
Grim put themselves up 2 - 0 when
G. Peláez broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Grim were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 23 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by
J. Cassadó. 3 - 0 for the home side.
After this, you could see that the players of Grim were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
C. Castrelo do Val could've grabbed a goal for Aguilas 28 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
Grim had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grim scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
C. Monfero after 48 minutes.
The referee showed Aguilas's
E. Toro Calderón the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
In a fantastic display of determination, Grim's
E. Pinillos forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
Aguilas kept trying to force their way through on the right side and
P. Muruais got his chance after 71 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack.
With 80 minutes played,
P. Muruais of Aguilas fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Grim's
F. Rojas had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 80 minutes having been played.
B. Pirla was the replacement.
Grim's
I. Mestres left the field after 83 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
A. Torroja.
E. Arruego's lack of experience almost gave Aguilas a goal after 84 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
Grim's
G. Peláez increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 85 minutes.
Grim claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
Most important Grim player was
J. Corn.
B. Pirla on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Aguilas's top performer was clearly
A. Arabí.
I. Tejedor was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 0.
