Clear skies welcomed the 25857 spectators who had made their way to FC Dalgiai Arena. Ringo Hell was the appointed referee with assistance provided by David Alexandersson and Lars Holtenblad. The derby had been the talk of Vilnius all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Dalgiai had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Dalgiai seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Dalgiai took the lead 9 minutes in, as M. Olchovskis broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Black_Knights.'s B. Grižilas somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for R. Murmulis, who struck for 1 - 1. Slack defending gave Dalgiai a chance to take the lead with 12 minutes played, but L. Žeberskis's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. With 13 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, L. Striokas needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Some great play up the middle by Dalgiai led to a chance for G. Šarafudinovas to score after 14 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Dalgiai took the lead, 2 - 1, after a penalty 30 minutes into the match. M. Olchovskis scored from the penalty spot. Dalgiai's M. Schukin was shown a yellow card after 31 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 32 minutes in, Black_Knights.'s Ž. Šturmaitis received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Dalgiai, as J. Padeigis left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. M. Baltuškevičius took his place on the field. Žeberskis could have increased the lead after 60 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. It was obvious that team Dalgiai had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. M. Schukin had a fantastic opportunity to put Dalgiai up another goal 75 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Dalgiai managed to extend their lead to 4 - 1 when M. Baltuškevičius cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. After this, you could see that the players of Dalgiai were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Dalgiai to 5 - 1 as M. Baltuškevičius finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Possession in this half belonged to Dalgiai, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

The most dominating Dalgiai player was without a doubt M. Olchovskis. B. Kašys turned in a dismal performance, however. Black_Knights.'s best player was A. Burkevičius. S. Bakūnevičius on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 1.
