previous 9/10 next 1/10  Nána 5 - 5 FOFO (383784486)

The 72486 fans in attendance at TJ OÚ Nána were roasting in the hot sun. Alejandro Coronado was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per Olsson and Blagojce Trajanov. Nána had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Alén - Lambarrie, Saraheimo, Largeaud - Häberlein, Martin, Tężycki, Graeber, Podvršan - Macák, Saa.

FOFO tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. Starters: Galanidis - Mészöly, Falch Andersen - Vaihinger, Kasalovský, Štefanatý, Čardáš, van Vulpen - Suchan, Reszler, Costa.

The wings were the focus of most of FOFO's attacks today. With 2 minutes played J. Macák almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. A well placed corner kick from J. Macák was followed by C. Martin's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Nána, the score now 1 - 0. FOFO had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. The crowd was silenced 14 minutes into the match as the visiting team's U. Vaihinger came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1. Nána took the lead 24 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as C. Martin elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Attacking on the wings was the choice for FOFO, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. 28 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 2 - 2 as S. Čardáš struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. Some great play up the middle by Nána led to a chance for P. Saa to score after 32 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 34 minutes into the match left FOFO's S. Suchan completely free to score. 2 - 3 for the visitors. O. Costa's lightning pace was too much for V. Saraheimo who could only look on as the FOFO player blasted one home. 2 - 4. Confident in their lead, FOFO's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 4. Nána enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

The home crowd were delighted when B. Podvršan scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 3 - 4. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure! 56 minutes in, and Nána were able to score the equalising goal to make it 4 - 4 when P. Saa picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. With the match clock at 60 minutes, Nána modified their style of play a little bit. After 60 minutes, the Nána coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach. M. Häberlein fired a shot from distance after 65 minutes, but the long shot couldn't find the net for Nána. 70 minutes into the game, Nána wanted to bring some new energy to their game. A. Largeaud gave B. Dos Santos a quick hug as he left the field. After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper, S. Suchan demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for FOFO 74 minutes into the match made the score 4 - 5. With 75 minutes played, after a good run down the left, M. Häberlein went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. After 80 minutes, J. Graeber made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 5 - 5. J. Lambarrie would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. C. Boari entered the game for Nána as the match clock showed 89 minutes. After 89 minutes, the Nána coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving B. Podvršan off the field. S. Dokić took his place. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Nána, with 54 percent of the ball.

Nána's top performer was clearly P. Saa. On the other hand, S. Dokić's play was disheartening. Most important FOFO player was J. Štefanatý. L. Mészöly on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 5.
