Clear skies welcomed the 41754 spectators who had made their way to Vetron Krompachy Arena. Jon Davidsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sorin Mandache and Walid El-Abir. Krompachy started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Autuori - Steinger, Lecoanet, Gamarra - Hainl, Štefranko, Gelieň, Stevanović, Raman - Creaolis, Schleichert.

A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Urban. They fielded: da Costa - Châteauneuf, Huuhka, Lepeto, Dumitru, Heiz - Demonty, Winkelhagen, Arvo, Başman - Flücken.

For their match strategy, Urban had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 5 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from M. Schleichert, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. After 8 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by M. Štefranko might have resulted in another goal for Krompachy. However, B. da Costa made a spectacular save. Ľ. Gelieň was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Krompachy's defence 17 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 2 - 0. Krompachy's G. Creaolis increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 25 minutes. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Krompachy's D. Stevanović increasing the lead to 4 - 0. The players of Krompachy now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Krompachy, with 57 percent of the ball.

E. Raman of Krompachy received a yellow card after 53 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After a short break after 55 minutes, Krompachy seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. Urban were pushed back, and had many dangerous counterattacks. An impressive one came 62 minutes into the match, but L. Demonty narrowly missed the free kick attempt that was awarded as a result of a foul. G. Creaolis left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 75 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. A. Martin was the replacement. The coach of Krompachy was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 80 minutes, R. Oleszkiewicz came on for B. Lecoanet. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, D. Stevanović got himself booked. The manager of Krompachy was not happy. Urban's S. Heiz had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 83 minutes having been played. C. Rötzer was the replacement. 85 minutes into the game, M. Huuhka had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came A. Pierce. Krompachy claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

The most dominating Krompachy player was without a doubt M. Schleichert. On the other hand, E. Raman's play was disheartening. Urban's best player was L. Demonty. A. Pierce was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
