A scorching day at
Greywolf´s Arena, where 24387 spectators were in place for today's match.
Mario Berrios was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Roberto Amidani and
Sven-Erik Möllerling.
All of
Banskobystrický was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Greywolfs.
Starters: Svocák - Rapca, Eszes, Mlynský, Tretina, Tomšo - Kisielewicz, Ciszewski, Lupu, Ulutürk - Hofsteenge.
Bystrica decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Barceló - Lok, Mazzone, Dozet, Núñez - Scognamiglio, Gasparri, Juara, Mader - Kopili, Beltrametti.
Bystrica showed their counterattack skill 13 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with
S. Kopili scoring uncontested for 0 - 1.
Greywolfs's
S. Rapca had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 14 minutes having been played.
J. Lenka was the replacement.
No matter how hard he tried,
D. Lupu just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 16 minutes.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
F. Tomšo got himself booked. The manager of Greywolfs was not happy.
After 39 minutes,
B. Kisielewicz sent the corner kick right to
A. Eszes who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 1!
Bystrica's
K. Beltrametti gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 40 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
It was 1 - 2 at the break.
Greywolfs claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
O. Núñez increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 3.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
D. Dozet who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
Bystrica increased their lead after 66 minutes when
D. Scognamiglio broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay.
S. Kopili came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
D. Svocák but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.
Greywolfs's best player was
S. Hofsteenge.
B. Mlynský was a disappointment, however.
Most important Bystrica player was
S. Kopili.
R. Lok turned in a dismal performance, however.
