The crowd of 27873 turning up at
Lakerovci Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Daniel Schußmann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Melchor Visca and
Per Månsson.
Lakerovci tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Stoia - Tercjak, Cederbo, Åkesson - Friberg, Kocifaj, Vidojević, Curras - Boomkens, Ordeanu, Audet.
Raslavice had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Zoppellaro - Rotolo, Flüeler, Filomarino - Bőke, Dupré, Arnal, Roseira, Kanevičius - Iguerabide, Kalff.
Raslavice displayed their ability to play creatively.
The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but
L. Tercjak showed great heart and had a good game.
Some great play up the middle by Lakerovci led to a chance for
M. Cederbo to score after 19 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
After 23 minutes, Raslavice's
R. Dupré made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
With 29 minutes played, after a good run down the left,
A. Ordeanu went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving.
After 30 minutes, Raslavice's
S. Iguerabide burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2.
It was 0 - 2 at the break.
Raslavice enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
After 49 minutes
A. Kanevičius made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to
S. Iguerabide who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 0 - 3.
Confident in their lead, Raslavice's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
61 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as
M. Bőke finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
Lakerovci's
M. Cederbo cut towards the middle after 79 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 4.
S. Iguerabide's lightning pace was too much for
M. Cederbo who could only look on as the Raslavice player blasted one home. 1 - 5.
At that,
S. Iguerabide was noted down for a hat trick!
Raslavice's
D. Roseira made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 85 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line.
Possession in this half belonged to Raslavice, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
Lakerovci's best player was
N. Boomkens.
J. Friberg was a disappointment, however.
Most important Raslavice player was
N. Flüeler.
On the other hand,
G. Zoppellaro's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 5.
