The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 11995 had shown up at Tj Slovan Bojná Arena for the match. L. György sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from T. Vican after 71 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 5. After 72 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Smilno was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. With the scoreboard showing that 76 minutes had been played, Smilno nearly put themselves up another goal after V. Gedó came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. With 86 minutes played, Smilno put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was I. With 89 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed V. Gedó of Smilno to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 8. Smilno's T. Vican was shown a yellow card after 89 minutes for slicing down an opponent. L. Tuka was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Slovan's A.
